Ryan McCall

Born and bred a flatlander, Ryan hails from Pennsylvania (not all that flat!).  As a geographer by education and a planner by vocation, it only makes sense that his personal interests and career aspirations would coincide, eventually landing him as the watershed coordinator for the Winooski River Basin with the State of Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation.  Recently, however, he has taken a post in the stormwater management program of the Water Quality Division of DEC.

Also a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Winooski River and the Vermont Paddlers Club, Ryan spends a good deal of his fun time on, in and around the rivers of Vermont, particularly those that churn white and have good gradient.  An avid whitewater kayaker, averaging more than 40+ days a season in his boats, he has not yet covered even a fraction of river miles of whitewater in Vermont over the last eight years.

When not poking about the waters of Vermont in a boat, Ryan spends time with his wife and two daughters, enjoying his surroundings in the Green Mountain State.
