Help protect and restore Vermont rivers.

A Statewide Leader for Healthy Rivers

Over nearly three decades, we have worked with people on nearly every river in the state to protect and restore the places where rivers are most likely to meander and overflow during floods.

Other Ways to Give

Give Monthly

A monthly pledge is an easy way to know you’re supporting rivers year-round, and helps us make the most of every dollar you donate.

Plus! Now through January 25, start a monthly pledge of any amount and we’ll enter you to win a Presidents’ Day Weekend getaway at Nulhegan Hut, a cozy cabin in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

Support the River Access Safety & Improvement Fund

Help improve the safety and visitor experience at nearly 50 favorite Vermont river access sites. Your gift will be used for a range of projects statewide – from providing signs to share critical safety and visitor information at swimming holes and boat launch sites, to engaging volunteers to keep trails and parking areas trash-free, to supporting communications efforts to help people understand the risks of recreating in and around rivers.

Ultimately, your gift helps people of all ages and backgrounds to safely enjoy refreshing swimming holes, quiet paddles, and shady riverside strolls.

Donations may also be made by mail:  Vermont River Conservancy, 29 Main Street Unit 11, Montpelier, VT 05602. Please indicate “River Access Safety & Improvement Fund” in the memo line.

Give in Memory of or in Honor of Friends and Family

A gift “in memory of” or “in honor of” a friend or family member who loves rivers is a meaningful way to honor a life well-lived.

Celebrate a birthday, graduation, retirement, or milestone, or give in memory of a loved one. You’ll have the option to share a personal message with them (or their next of kin) to let them know you’ve celebrated their love of rivers with a gift to Vermont River Conservancy.

Contribute to the Canute Dalmasse Legacy Fund

A lifelong friend of rivers, Canute Dalmasse passed away in 2008. He was a Vermont public servant for 36 years, including positions as Commissioner of Environmental Conservation and Deputy Secretary of the Agency of Natural Resources. He had a special love for Vermont’s rivers, a passion his family and friends carry forward with annual contributions in his honor. For nearly 15 years now, the Canute Dalmasse Legacy Fund has helped catalyze some of Vermont River Conservancy’s most innovative conservation efforts across the state.

For example, if you’re not needing income from your IRA, you might choose to gift a portion of your required minimum distribution up to $100,000, and thus reduce your tax liability for the year.
