Shannon Knowles

Shannon Knowles joined our VRC staff as part time Office Manager in the summer of 2018.  She brought over two decades of small business and non-profit management experience plus a passion for exploring Vermont and its waters.  Growing up in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, her childhood summers were spent in an off-grid tar paper camp on a pond in the wilderness of the NEK where she received her first beat up fiberglass kayak at the age of 10. Those formative years in the woods have carried into her adult dreams of someday returning to that off-grid lifestyle on or near a quiet Vermont pond.

Shannon and her daughters (and their kayaks) moved to Montpelier in 2018, where she will stay until she finds or builds a small homestead, nearby VRC, but in the boonies, on a pond, with chickens and an ill-behaved dog.
