VRC welcomes new Board member Lou Bushey

I grew up in the Town of Franklin, VT where I took full advantage of the waterways of the Missisquoi River and graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School.  I attended the University of Vermont and earned a degree in Wildlife Biology and moved to the Northeast Kingdom to work for the Agency of Natural Resources.  I began my career with the Fish and Wildlife Department but moved to the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation with the primary role of managing public land.  I obtained a MS degree in Resource Management and Administration from Antioche and have been with FPR for the past 20 years managing public land and forests in the NEK.  I was one of the initial members of the collaborative that began the Connecticut River Paddler’s trail.  I currently live in Barnet with my wife Melissa and three college aged students.  Regardless of the season I enjoy the waterways of the region by riding along our winding roads on my bike, fishing, canoeing or hunting waterfowl.
